This Antique Silverplate Toast Rack was made by Walker & Hall of Sheffield, England, one of the great names in English silver and silverplate tableware. Its graduated arched dividers, tall loop handle and wonderfully old-fashioned purpose make it equally good holding toast at breakfast, letters on a desk, or cocktail napkins somewhere considerably less sensible. The underside is marked Walker & Hall Sheffield England, along with “Warranted Hard & Silver Soldered.”
