This antique Pair of Staffordshire Dogs, dating to circa 1860–1890, has the wonderfully stern little faces that make Staffordshire spaniels so hard to resist.
Made in England, the opposing ceramic spaniels have creamy white coats with hand-painted faces, molded fur and touches of worn gold along their collars and bodies. Firing holes (on the back and the bottom), fine crazing, gilt loss and other signs of age are consistent with their 19th-century manufacture. A classic pair of Victorian Staffordshire dogs for the mantel, bookshelf or anywhere else that could use two very old dogs quietly monitoring the situation.

Condition: Good antique condition with age-appropriate crazing, gilt loss, surface wear and discoloration. Purple/red pigment marks are visible on the reverse of one dog. No attempt has been made to remove them. Please review photographs closely for condition.
